Medical Weight Loss in Virginia Beach

A customized, physician-supervised plan built around your health history, lifestyle and goals, with oral and injectable medication options when they’re medically appropriate.

Why a medical program

Weight affects blood pressure, blood sugar, joints, sleep and energy, and quick-fix diets rarely last. A medical program looks at your whole health picture and changes course when something isn’t working.

How the program works

  1. Medical evaluation. Dr. Gonzales reviews your health history, current medications and goals, and orders lab work when it’s needed.
  2. Your plan. A plan built for you, which may include nutrition guidance, activity goals and, when medically appropriate, oral or injectable medication.
  3. Regular check-ins. Follow-up visits track your progress and adjust your plan along the way.

Medication options

When medication is medically appropriate, Dr. Gonzales offers both oral and injectable options. He prescribes only after a medical evaluation, explains how your medication works and its possible side effects, and adjusts your dose at follow-up visits.

Medication works best alongside changes in eating and activity, so it’s one part of your plan, not a stand-alone prescription.

Who it’s for

Adults who have struggled to lose weight or keep it off on their own, including people with weight-related health concerns. Dr. Gonzales will tell you whether medical weight loss is a good fit, or whether another approach is safer for you.

Finishing touches

Some patients pair weight loss with SculpSure body contouring for stubborn areas, or with hormone optimization when low hormone levels are part of the picture. Individual results vary.
