Getting started
Do I need a consultation before treatment?
Yes. Every new treatment at Epitome begins with a consultation, so we can understand your goals, review your health history and recommend what is right for you. Some treatments may not be appropriate for everyone, and we will tell you if that is the case.
How do I book an appointment?
Use the Book Appointment button anywhere on our site to see current services and availability and book online, or call us at 757-821-7680.
How much do treatments cost?
Pricing depends on the treatment and on your personal plan. Current prices are listed in our online booking store, and we will give you a clear quote at your consultation before any treatment begins.
Is there a fee for a consultation?
Consultations are complimentary. If your visit includes a medical evaluation and treatment decisions by the physician, a visit fee applies.
Who will I see?
All care at Epitome is physician-led. Norman Gonzales, MD, board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, oversees every treatment plan.
Do you treat men?
Yes. We care for men and women. For men, we offer testosterone therapy, customized medical weight loss, laser hair removal, skin treatments and injectables.
Treatments and results
Is there downtime?
It depends on the treatment. Many treatments, such as HydraFacial and Botox or Dysport, typically involve little to no downtime. Resurfacing treatments such as CO2 laser involve a recovery period. We will explain what to expect for your treatment at your consultation.
When will I see results?
Some treatments show results within days, while others build gradually or work best as a series of sessions. Individual results vary, and we will set realistic expectations with you before you begin.
What is included in customized medical weight loss?
Your plan is built around your health history, lifestyle and goals, with physician supervision and follow-up along the way. When medically appropriate, it may include oral or injectable medication. We start with a consultation to see whether medical weight loss is right for you.
How do I know if hormone optimization is right for me?
We start with an evaluation that typically includes your symptoms, health history and lab testing. Dr. Gonzales will review the results with you and discuss whether treatment is appropriate.
Before your visit
How should I prepare for my treatment?
Injectables (such as Botox, Dysport or fillers): avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements beforehand. If a blood thinner was prescribed for you, do not stop it on your own; talk with your prescribing doctor first.
Laser treatments: avoid sun exposure before your appointment.
We will review any other instructions with you at your consultation.
Payment and privacy
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards, CareCredit and Cherry. CareCredit and Cherry offer financing, subject to approval.
